Yes, I will be back . . . this time around, I am presenting two talks for the conference . . . both topics that a LOT of folks have asked me about . . .
HYPNODRUNK . . . learn the joy of really altering one's state of consciousness . . . Dionysius or his twin buddy Bacchus doesn't have anything on us! For centuries all sorts of folks have been using chemicals, drugs, herbs, and more in order to alter their awareness into feelings of feeling really good . . . some have sought altered states of consciousness for therapeutic change or for introspective self-knowledge and others just liked the feeling of feeling high or drunk or more. Well, some mystics found ways to achieve these same feelings without the drugs and we hypnotists can do the same. Yes, drunken sobriety can be yours. In this session, Brian David Phillips discusses and shares techniques related to a hypnosis process that is near and dear to his heart . . . helping folks feel drunk via hypnosis. Variations to the process will be discussed (Drug of Choice, Anchoring, Drinking Finger) and demonstrated. Of course, while this is a topic that is inherently fun and the recreational benefits are obvious to many, therapeutic and other applications will also be covered as well as applications to other areas. So, come on in, kick of your shoes, breathe in and relax and let yourself slip into a drunken feeling.
SUGGESTIBILITY SEQUENCING . . . those folks who are talking about hypnosis without trance are really talking about this stuff . . . So many folks look on Suggestibility Effects as one-shot simple tests to decide whether or not it's appropriate to move forward with a particular client or how they might proceed. Suggestibility effects are often treated as independent of the induction proper. While this can be true, it does not have to be so. Many hypnotists fail to take advantage of suggestibility effects as inductions in their own right. With many suggestibility effects, once you have the response, you have full-blown hypnosis and so there is no reason to stop at that point in order to "begin" a formal induction. In this session, Brian David Phillips discusses and presents examples of the use of Suggestibility Sequences, a series of suggestibility effects that can be layered upon one another to create a sequence that enhances expectancy and intensifies imaginative involvement for hypnosis (eyes open or closed, it does not matter) and typically becomes the induction itself . . . besides, they can be loads of fun! A playful approach to Suggestibility Sequencing is perfect for the street hypnotist as well as the entertainer and even the clinician will find the concept to be a very powerful addition to one's repertoire.
