On 1-2 May 2021, Rev. Dr. Brian David Phillips will be conducting an Online Seminar on ESOTERIC TRANCEWORK: Magickal Hypnotic Patterns for Ecstatic Transformation (Unlocking the Potential Within) using the Zoom platform.

The course is comprehensive and covers a number of areas of interest related to the Esoteric Magickal Mind Ecstatic. Please understand that while we intend to cover a number of skillsets, not all topics will include demonstrational practice. However, the program does include numerous demonstrational instructions in the operators and methods related to working with the Magickal Mind Ecstatic for trancework as well as ecstatic response. There is a great deal of material to cover here by design but we will likewise allow for a great deal of fluidity and incorporate topics of interest to the participants present in the online training sessions. This is an intensive program, so come ready to observe demonstrations and participate in discussion of techniques. Given the online nature of the course, actual practice will be limited (there will be some but given we are online and not in person, participants will be asked to take notes and then practice later with their own pracice partners – online or in person – with the caveat that we strongly encourage everyone to be safe during these trying times).

Optional but very very helpful for participation . . . please have the following items prepared for use at various times during the seminar: magickal stone (or crystal or small rock or marble or even a piece of papper wadded into a small ball), crystal ball (or even just a ball), candle, mirror, medalion or amulet or talisman (random coin can do in a pinch), ring or bracelet (can be a simple toy or even a string tied around a finger or wrist if need be), bowl with water inside, wand (does not need to be a proper wand, any stick or small straight object such as a drumstick or chopstick or the like will work), rod or staff (a cane or bigger stick will be fine – even a hockey stick would work), and Tarot cards (any deck, it’s better if you have a set with figures on each card similar to the Waite tradition rather than the sort that just have coins or cups and the like with no people represented), poppet or doll (in a pinch, I have used a pillow or stuffed toy).

The First Day is a chance to orient and delve into ESOTERIC TRANCEWORK and we will hit basics of esoteric hypnotic and ecstatic trancework . . . how to do simple hypnosis work, entering trance and guiding an appropriate consenting adult partner . . . this will include the skills required for esoteric trancework. This session might introduce a few trancework operators, this is NOT an introductory hypnosis course (if you want that, go to my other available training materials). You do not need to be a trained hypnotist to participate in this seminar – if you are, you will see the usefulness of the material in that regard – this seminar is for esoteric methods that can be applied to many different contexts. The skills introduced on our first day of this seminar are the solid ones that ground esoteric trance for working with others and oneself. This is the day for trance operators and some core concept review as well as a solid introduction to esoteric trance philosophy and practice. We will get running with a start.

The Second Day is our Very Special deeper exploration ESOTERIC TRANCEWORK EXPERIENCE and will be predominately discussion, demonstration and some practice in which we explore a number of esoteric trance concepts and techniques adapted to brief trancework from occult, magickal, spiritual, tantra, and other metaphysical approaches. This is also when I present a number of approaches to a number of methods of a more mature subject matter. Intimacy enhancement patterns will be presented here too.

Essentially, the first day of this very special experience is based in part upon creating a solid core foundation program while the second day is mostly guiding participants into very unique ecstatic esoteric eXperiences and working on skillsets they can use on their own and with others.

While I have obviously touched on esoteric methods in the past (I teach a LOT of varied courses), this is our first time teaching much of this material in one solid program!

While we certainly have broad details and concepts prepared, we are not posting a step by step syllabus on this event page as while we will definitely hit the major points and skills, we will also be adjusting to the needs or interests of the class. Some groups go fast and others not so fast so we want to be able to respond to their needs and interests (we will have interactive discussion and demonstration). In fact, both Day One and Day Two will see some completely original processes developed completely from seminar interaction and improvisation as we explore esoteric trance operators and how to create original forms in the moment.

My courses are always interactive and usually practice-based so there will be quite a few demonstrations of techniques and discussion. For obvious reasons, as this is an online program, we will not be able to physically separate participants into pairs and practice, then debrief, but we will have demonstrational work and discussion along with some limited practice with homework assigned for folks to practice on their own by themselves or with their own practice partners (as appropriate for their situation).

TEACHING METHODS:

This seminar relies upon a very fast-paced system of demonstration and practice. More than any other course, this online seminar consists of preset, demonstration, practical explanation, and discussion. It is NOT intended as a lecture or passive learning experience. It is a very fast-paced and energetic program so students should come ready, willing, able, and eager to jump right in and run full speed ahead. The teaching methodology is very active. Students will learn through all of their sensory learning channels, particularly aural, visual, and kinesthetic . . . listening, seeing, and doing as much as appropriate in an online short-form format . . . as it is a practical applications competence course, we will adapt the training as possible within the following process model: 1. instructor briefs students on the topic, 2. instructor demonstrates technique with student volunteer, 3. the demonstration is then broken down into steps, 4. students then practice the technique several times with one another under guidance of the instructor with ongoing feedback, 5. class debriefs about experience and technique with performance notes from instructor, 6. students continue advanced practice (including homework for some techniques), 7. final debriefing with instructor. The course focuses upon competence and application of material. Note, much of the practice sessions will be abbreviated or moved to homework rather than conducted during the seminar proper. We will be covering quite a bit of ground within our brief time together.
