Good Luck, Kaye!

Today, my daughter, Kaye (http://www.kayephillips.com) begins a three-day intensive examination process as she takes the Joint Music Specialty High School Examination.  She's finishing junior high school this year and Taiwan has an education system that requires that kids take a unified entrance examination for high school to compete for spots in the schools (basically, kids end up going to the high school that accepts kids within the score range – so, kids want to do well to get into the better schools).  Kaye's dream is to get into a high school with a music specialty program and so she's been doing extensive intensive study to prepare for the music exam this weekend (the general unifed exam is later in May).  This is the big weekend.  Today, she has theory and history exams along with listening and singing exams.  Tonight and Sunday she has review sessions in piano and performance exams in piano (her major instrument) and cello (her minor instrument) on Monday.  It's a big deal and very stressful for her . . . but . . . this is what she's been dreaming about and focusing a lot of work into for some time.

Wish her well.

Good luck, Kaye, I love you!

All the best,
Brian (aka, Daddy)
