I found a couple hypnosis videos that illustrate how you can take ideas and modify them. The arm/hand levitation effect is a wonderful tool for inducing and deepening hypnosis. I tend to use it in my own variant induction as a deepener with an emotional association attached in order to deepen more than simply physical effects. Here are a couple variations from others.
These videos are of much longer inductions than I prefer. My own induction style tends to be four minutes or less for the full induction so that we can move into session work and deepening. I am very much a proponent of rapid and instant hypnosis techniques.
ERICKSONIAN HAND LEVITATION HYPNOSIS INDUCTION (PORTUGUESE)
Alcimar Vidolin, M.D., of www.sonhoshipnoticos.com.br demonstrates a hypnotic induction based on the Ericksonian hands levitation technique (an ideomotor response).
REVERSE ARM LEVITATION DEMONSTRATION
This is a brief demonstration of the 5 stages of the hypnotic process with an interesting reverse arm levistation induction. Richard K Nongard, PhD, of LearnClinicalHypnosis.com demonstrates the process as he uses it.
HYPNOSIS INDUCTION (FRENCH)
Here is a longer induction from French television, since we’re on a decidedly international kick for this post.
My own preference for inductions are shorter but I definately use the arm levitation effect, as folks who have seen my own demonstration videos are well aware of (see videos at http://www.BrianDavidPhillips.com as well as this blog for many examples).
All the best,
Brian
