The focus on the controversy is pretty much all we see about this story . . . Is it art? Teacher strips in class . . . and a teacher bringing in folks to strip as models, then stripping himself during the lecture, and then telling his students they should strip too seems pretty controversial . . . a bit of a naturist lecture style . . . but we don’t get the full context, just the naked body parts. It’s an art class, it’s focused on the human body, it’s supposed to be an experimental program that pushes boundaries. What was the context of the whole thing? Well, still Chinese students are pretty conservative – I’ve actually met folks from China who didn’t know kissing won’t get you pregnant (I’ve also known some who didn’t realizing having intercourse like bunnies can). This lecture would certainly raise eyebrows even in New York so I can imagine what the kids in the class were thinking.
