Combat Human Slavery and STDs . . .
. . . legalizing prostitution

Romania is combatting sexually transmitted diseases (AIDS and more) as well as the traffic in human slaves . . . Romanian authorities plan to legalize prostitution, police say . . . human rights and public health officials are strongly behind the move while the orthodox church is not. However, despite religious objections, the government is moving ahead with the plan as study after study and hard evidence shows that legalizing prostitution makes it much easier to control and that disease and illegal activities associated with prostitution become much more easily contained when it is allowed via legal – and regulated – channels. Just as the gangsters were in favor of prohibition, it is the criminals and the church who agree that it should be illegal . . . in cahoots to maintain a system of pain, anguish, and disease . . . so to speak.
