The saga of Gary Benchley is an entertaining read . . . as Gary tries to put his band together, get a gig and get on with becoming a megastar. Such a refeshingly odd way to approach band building . . . Gary wants a kool black bassist so he works up his nerve to walk up to umpteen black strangers on the street and ask “excuse me, do you play base?” Hilarity ensues.
