College Kids

I went to KU for a couple years . . . long ago, when dinosaurs walked the Earth . . . yep, this captures some of the experience. The pot smoking gallery is certainly familiar . . . not that I ever toked up, being the straight-laced fellow that I am, but I do remember the rather heavy smell from the dorms. KU was something of a bust for me, my roommate and I spent so much time reading comics and playing cards and generally screwing around so much that classes got blown off big time . . . I ended up quitting to salvage the GPA and a chance to go to school elsewhere and he took the long drive home never to return to higher education. I learned my lesson . . . big time . . . learned to study, learned to get good grades . . . learned to love the university so much, I went on to Phi Kappa Phi and similar awards for grad school and finished my doctorate and am still in college . . . on the other side of the lectern. However, I remember my undergrad years fondly . . . as do most of us. Now, I’m just an old fart with nieces in college. Ah, the glorious circle of life.
