One of my favorite tales from antiquity is the Epic of Gilgamesh (http://www.ancienttexts.org/library/mesopotamian/gilgamesh/), not least because it includes part of the saga of the goddess Inanna who became Ishtar who becomes the model for so many goddesses and saints after Her.

I’ve long had a fascination for this versatile, powerful, and oft-misunderstood and misrepresented deity.

Imagine my delight when random websurfing I came across Tony Garone‘s musical version of the tale. That’s right, there really is a musical of The Epic of Gilgamesh (http://www.garone.net/tony/gilgamesh.html). Fun stuff!
