Been there, done this a lot . . . and by a lot . . . I mean A LOT.

The mind is an incredibly wonderful beastie as it invariably proves time and time again that emotional, psychic, and even physical sensation has more to do with mental focus, awareness, and imaginative involvement than actual biological constructs.

Those of you familiar with why I selected the Egyptian wedjat as a key component to the logos both for my personal Waking Dreams hypnosis practice but also as the emblem for the Society of Experiential Trance understand that the eye does not simply represent occult power as some assume but that it is a representation of how the ancient Egyptians perceived the six senses and that the sixth sense is Thought, without which we cannot experience the others and through which we can experience the other senses fully even when they are absent.

A wonderful – and extremely pleasant – demonstration of just how powerful the mind can do this is to use hypnotic suggestion to shift sexual sensation.

In this video, you see very clearly one example of this in that the hypnotist gives the trance partner a suggestion that her sexual response orgams – her clitoris, vaginal, and erotic response sets – are centered within her palms. Notice that as he gently strokes her palm, her arousal state goes into hyperdrive and with no other physical stimulation, she has a powerful erotic release.

Of course, this is not the only way to demonstrate this effect, but the hypnotic palmgasm is certainly an fun one.
