3D falling short for the holidays? It’s the industry’s own damned fault.

Renate Grimming writes about the aparent shortfall of 3D television and 3D in general this holiday season after huge hype buildups. See her piece at http://www.monstersandcritics.com/tech/news/article_1606655.php/3D-television-off-to-a-slow-start. Meanwhile Australia’s Channel News comes to similar conclusions albeit with a bit more pessimism at http://www.channelnews.com.au/Display/3D_TV/N2H8N8Q3. As I’ve written before, I really think this whole exclusive title thing for the sets is killing the market as it makes even fewer titles available to consumers in practical terms. Also, the Fuji Real 3D W3 and other real 3D cameras (NOT the very bad idea single-lens beasts which are not nearly as versatile or useful) should be bundled with sets along with easy viewing options and other incentives.

In my opinion.
