Fuji Advertises their new 3D Camera at 3D Cinemas

Fuji has been pulling out the stops as they’ve started promoting their Fuji Real 3D W3 digital camera (I have the W1 and love it). While Lorraine tells me the 3D presentation at the film market she attended in Singapore had not a peep about the Fuji (despite it being first to the block, but this seems more an indication of the presenters cluelessness regarding the topic he was supposed to be talking about than industry reality), still Fuji has begun pushing . . . okay, maybe not hard . . . but certainly much better than the W1 which was all but hidden away as it was a product test run more than a genuine mass market release.

Evidently, at least in the US . . . we’ve had no peep about the product here in Taiwan, at least nothing to this scale . . . Fuji has begun advertising their 3D camera in a place that makes perfect sense . . . in the adverts among the trailers at 3D cinemas where folks are already primed to enjoy and experience true 3D.

See http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/08/business/media/08adco.html for the New York Times coverage.

BTW, I’m told that at least one 3D TV manufacturer in the US is bundling the Fuji Real 3D W3 as a freebie with the purchase of their 3D TV and 3D Bluray package. Now, THAT’S great thinking! Especially if you have a camera right there for folks to see themselves in still and HD video (yes, the W3 has that feature) . . . folks who are waiting for more content before making the big purchase may go ahead and move forward if they know they can make their own content.
