While certain objections to gay marriage have focused on religulous argumentation, one objection is that having gay parents can be damaging to a child. Recent research has shown that two gay parents is actually better than having a single straight parent in terms of a child's development and stability. Now, don't get me wrong, having two straight parents is also a good thing and having a single gay parent is crappy too . . . the thing is, having two stable parents – regardless of gender or sexual orientation – is much better for children than having a single parent or disruptive home. Actually, the research has evidently found that there's no significant difference in terms of child development from two straight or two gay parents, if it's a stable couple then it's a good thing.
