The Cost of Being a Gay Couple

The New York Times has an interesting article by Tara Siegel Bernard and Ron Leiber in the Money section that looks at the financial high price of being a gay couple . . . http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/03/your-money/03money.html . . . so much of the gay marriage debate is rooted in religious rhetoric when the financial costs of being a committed gay person is overwhelmingly lopsided when compared to the same costs a heterosexual couple might incur.

Personally, I've always been on the give gays the right to marry side of the aisle (actually further left than most liberals on that particular issue).  This is just one more item to add to the pro-column.

All the best,
Brian
