3D Photography on Flickr and the rest of it . . .

As most of you know . . . I am big time interested in stereoscopic true 3D photography.

I have a category here on my blog related to things 3D at https://briandavidphillips.net/3d_stereophotography_and_photography/index.html where I post random news and bits and gallery stuff.  My personal 3D galleries in the 3D and Cosplay 3D subfolders at http://public.fotki.com/briandavidphillips used to be very active as well and there's a lot there now as it is.

I am also the list owner and co-moderator of a very active international forum for things 3D in the form of the 3D Stereoview eXchange at http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/3D-StereoviewXchange where folks from all over the planet exchange and discuss their original 3D images.

I even recently started a Facebook group related to 3D Photography in Taiwan at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=107151433917 which is young and small and not particularly active at the moment but the membership is growing . . . mostly folks intriguied by the idea and not yet hobbyists or even particularly skilled at 3D photography . . . yet.  However, we have some hopes to organize some events or gatherings and the like which might help some folks.  If you're already on that group, feel free to post links and resources for folks there, most are beginners.

Well . . . for the folks who are interested in seeing more of what others have created, I strongly reccommend they join and participate in the 3D eXchange but they may also find flickr has quite a few active groups with colorful galleries worth checking out.

Here's a partial list for those of you with an interest . . .

As I posted here recently, I don't shoot much 3D at the moment as I really prefer a digital rig to a film one (film is a real hassle now and many places don't even carry it anymore).  I had been shooting with a pair of Sony V-3 cameras linked together with a Shepherd LANC but one of the cameras died so I gave the other to my daughter for her to use.  I carry around a small Fuji mono digital camera and so don't shoot much at the moment.  I do have a Loreo adapter on my old Canon 300D so I could use it but I was never satisfied with the light for that.  When the Fuji arrives in Taipei (we'll wait for one with an English interface and likely skip the early Japanese parallel imports although I assume those will get here much earlier – hopefully won't have to wait too long).

In any case, I've decided to drop the whole hiatus thing and get back in to 3D photography full swing rather than dabbling here and there.  There's a cosplay at National Taiwan University in a week so don't be shocked to see me there with one of my rigs or at least shooting some chacha shots for post-processing.

All the best,
Brian
