Tara Parker-Pope interviews Dr. Denise A. Donnelly, Associate Professor of Sociology at Georgia State University, on the subject of the sexless marriage in the New York Times (http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/06/03/when-sex-leaves-the-marriage).  While the average married couple has sex 58 times a year (roughly once a week), one has to take into account that the average sexual encounters for couples under 30 years of age is 111 times a year.  A whopping 15 percent of all married couples have not had sex in the last six months, year, or even longer.  Donnelly delves into the question of why that is.  See the full interview for insights.
