Randy Cohen takes a look at When Layoffs are Immoral at the New York Times with some excellent examples of just how some companies with CEOs taking in multimillion dollar paychecks are behaving unethically through mass layoffs.  Layoffs certainly are necessary in many instances, but Cohen goes through the list of alternatives that should be tried first, even in economies like today's.
