I am an idjit.  The gay marriage article from California is a year old https://briandavidphillips.net/2009/05/california-gay-marriage-ban-goes-byebye.html so instead of this being a really kool thing it shows that things were going in the right direction but the carpet got pulled out from under folks so . . . things still suck in California for gay marriage.

Don't send me articles with a note saying they are for today unless the today is actually today's today just in case my brain is on cruise control and I don't notice the damned date.

Grrrrr.  I got all excited and didn't read the date as carefully as one should for such things.  Instead of being a story of triumph, it's just a sour reminder of defeat and evilocity.
