sometimes things SUCK more than a lot

I am as sick as a dawg right now, sicker than.  Lorraine left for a few days in Hong Kong to attend the film market, starting yesterday.  So, as one would expect for such things . . . the evening before I had a slight upset stomach, by the time Lorraine boarded the airplane I was suddenly hit with stronger nausea and some chills, by the time her plane touched down in Hong Kong, I was running a fever with bone-shaking chills then the throwing-up of all sorts of nastiness began.  I know, I'm usually down and out when separated from Lorraine but usually it's an emotional separation anxiety that gets to me, not a physical full-on physical deterioration.  The timing is coincidental but it sure does have a touch of synchronicity in there.  I had to call in sick from work today and I absolutely hate having to do that, especially since the students were supposed to present speeches, but there was just no way I could make the drive from Keelung to Mucha.  This morning, I felt a bit better but then got hit with it again.  Hopefully, after two rest and liquids and rest and the like I will be fit enough for classes and ubermeetings on Thursday, but for now, feeling lousy and missing my woman.  Kaye has been great about getting me water and hot lemon and putting on more covers when the chills hit me.  It freaks her out a bit having to take care of me, I can tell but she has demonstrated an ability to take on responsibility when needed (of course, like her father, she prefers it when she's not the one who has to shoulder those responsibilities).  I am counting on being on the mend from this thing, whatever the devil it is, soon.  Other things are looking up though.

All the best,
Brian
