How the Mind and Body are Linked

The Saturday Star presents a simple summary of how the mind and body are linked (web) in that neurological research has shown that in some cases the mind can not distinguish between real and imagined experiences – in that the same neurological effects hold in both, particularly in vividly experiential imaginary experiences.  Within hypnosis, a person is led into an intensified imaginative state so that vicarious experience becomes as if genuine.  This is the key to experiential hypnosis and to success with medical or other hypnotic interventions.  The focused awareness is very useful.  The Star story links hypnosis to relaxation which is often present but not a prerequisite of hypnosis as implied.

All the best,
Brian
