The Lynx Effect ad above – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VII18CVrlTU – was used in a scientific study on the effects of sexual stimuli on men. See Study: Women in Bikinis Make Men More Impulsive at http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,366102,00.html. Now, while sexual stimuli cause men to be more sexually excited – duh – that’s not really the point as to what the study found. They found that men became more impulsive overall. In other posts on this blog we’ve found that sexual stimuli tend to make men with higher testosterone less cautious and basically the little brain takes over from the big brain but this study shows that the impulsive behavior is definitely generalized and part of an evolutionary setup. Men exposed to sexual stimuli actually exhibit improved cognition and creativity. So, that’s a very good thing. Good news on the bikini front . . . folks in Kanab, Utah, may be seeing a rise in impulsiveness, cognition, and creativity soon as the ban on bikinis at the local pool has been lifted . . . http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,365849,00.html . . . well, for now, at least.
