Taiwan-China

National Day here in Taiwan had the first military parade in years, once a commonplace event with the celebration but stopped when the island became a democracy . . . evidently posturing is up as a means to bolster confidence in the island’s ability to defend itself. Evidently the PRC is now developing a new stategy to dealing wth Taiwan and that strategy includes the promotion of a slew of military officers with direct experience in planning a military conflict with Taiwan . . . see here. One and one usually makes two. Of course, one hand does one thing and the other does another as economic ties continue to increase.
