The Joys of Rennovation . . . sucking the life right out of you

Yesterday was a typhoon day. Oh, joy, oh, rapture. Didn’t really mean much for me since classes started today (so, I got to stay home on a day I was going to stay home anyway).

We got a call from the painters at the new house who decided to paint and work . . . water was pouring in. Had to call the roof/leak guy and went to inspect the dealio. Well, they have to do more roof work – the leak means we can’t carpet until there’s dry weather so they can seal things (it’s typhoon season so that’s a fairy tale thing right from the get-go). We may have to move into an unfiished place with leak and all just to avoid paying rent at two places. Sucks.

My computer woes are still running full force. Turns out the motherboard is fried, still under warranty so they sent my computer to the factory to replace it . . . that means all those school files I need to prep classes I am teaching NOW are not available. More suck.

Oh, air conditioner in our bedroom died . . . we’re moving and can’t take the air con to the new place (as we are using different configurations there and have to buy new ones for that) so we are letting it go and sleeping in the guest room as best we can. Sucks some more.
