University students are often volunteers in hypnosis shows and they make some of the best subjects. So, what happens when university students decide to take up hypnosis? Fun and chaos? I began reading devouring every hypnosis book I could find since I was a kid but wish I had been more proactive with it when I was at university. These kids have quite a bit of potential.

St. Mike’s College: Dan Hypnotized
Intriguing use of hypnosis as an experiment in acting (I use trance as an acting training tool) as Dan is hypnotized to recite the lyrics to Elton John’s song Rocket Man as if he is William Shatner (Captain Kirk of Star Trek. Coincidentally, this morning I taught a class on Music and Science Fiction and Fantasy at the university where I am an Associate Professor and used that very song as an example as we went over the lyrics while and listened to the recording.
St. Mike’s College: Missing Penis
Here is the classic stage hypnotist gag with a twist. This can be very funny but you need to wary of making it anything less than good fun.
While I might have some reservations, for the most part these kids make me regret not being more active in my own hypnosis experiences at university. Ah, the joys of the might-have-beens. As long as they have a clue as to what they’re doing and they keep it in the realm of consensual fun, it’s worthwhile . . . both for the playful fun and for the positive experiences and skills these lighthearted sessions invariably lead to.
All the best,
Brian
