Soul Research?

On topic to some questions I’ve received via messenger and email lately . . . Soul Research Works in Unusual Areas of Hypnosis . . . notice that while the general approach is geared towards uncritical metaphysical hypnosis, the news is published in the finance section of yahoo’s press release site.

While some of the areas discussed in the article are very interesting in terms of hypnotic exploration, I personally prefer a more critical approach to such things. As many of you know, I do indeed teach metaphysical hypnosis techniques, however, I use a much more critical approach that does not posture that such things or information or images from metaphysical sessions represent an objective reality. Rather, I strongly contend that the results are often more appropriately approached as metaphor.

The tagline about psychics and intelligence agencies is insinuating more than is factual. Yes, the CIA did indeed fund a study of psychics . . . just as most governments of the Cold War era did. This does not mean that they found positive results.

I personally believe there are individuals with real psychic or intuitive gifts. However, I also firmly believe that a large percentage of the folks who claim to have such gifts, particularly the ones who rake in a lot of cash from the public, do not possess such gifts and are instead using magician’s tricks, conmen’s flimflammery, and simple misdirction of the illusionist to create the effects which they then leverage to take advantage of folks. As I know a number of the tricks, my skepticism goes on high alert when I come across folks who produce what to me are simple effects and then make psychic claims for them. I’ve actually demonstrated such effects and had folks then refuse to believe me when I told them I was using trickery instead of genuine psychic powers.

As I am both a hypnotist and a university professor who teaches critical theory at the graduate school level, I am very wary of folks who profess to use hypnosis to guide clients into states of mind that go beyond the subjective metaphor when it comes to metaphysical processes. I certainly use metaphysical techniques and do have my own spiritual beliefs, however I can also tell when someone’s calling a horse a zebra.

If you are in Taipei and would like to experience metaphysical hypnosis as it should be performed, feel free to visit my webpages and contact me for an appointment or to setup a group program. However, when you do so . . . soon . . . please do not be surprised when you are given straightfoward and honest explanation with full and open disclosure of the techniques and what the process means.

All the best,
Brian
