Joining the same trend in other manufacturers, Nikon Plans to Stop Making Most Cameras That Use Film. Kodak and Canon have similarly gone digital away from film. Film camera sales have dropped dramatically, accounting for only 3% of Nikon’s sales this year down from 16% the previous year. Digital has pretty much won on the consumer battlefront. Now . . . if only we could get ’em to push through that stereodigitalcamera for 3D photography (the real thing with two lenses) we’ve been hoping for.
