Taipei Hypnosis Workshop Meeting . . .
WALKABOUT TRANCE SPEED STREET HYPNOSIS
(Improvised Approaches to Spontaneous Trance Sessions in Unusual Contexts)

On 18 December 2005, the Taipei Experimental Hypnosis Workshop will have a meeting. This month’s topic is WALKABOUT TRANCE SPEED STREET HYPNOSIS (Improvised Approaches to Spontaneous Trance Sessions in Unusual Contexts). If you live in these parts and would like to join us, contact me.

The Taipei Experimental Hypnosis and Trancework Workshop is the largest English-language hypnosis practice group in Taiwan.

We will meet for the hypnosis study group (English) on Sunday, December 18, from 2:30 to 5:30ish in the afternoon).

A number of folks have asked that we repeat this very special event . . . so . . . Taipei weather permitting . . . for this session, we will playing with Walkabout Trance, or Speed Street Hypnosis (Improvised Approaches to Spontaneous Trance Sessions in Unusual Contexts. If possible, bring your digital camera with video capabilities. We will be going out into the world and playing a game related to Walkabout Trance style Speed Street Hypnosis. Each team will be asked to do approaches and cold walkups with members of the public for a consensual set (that means asking for permission as we’re working overt techniques, not covert). You will then videotape one of the team members doing a suggestibility test, waking hypnosis effect, or right out induction. The Speed Street Hypnosis comes in that each set may not be longer than five minutes and should ideally be three to four minutes or less. There will be friendly competition between teams for successful sets but the real purpose is to dive in and work on cold sets and trance effect management . . . always leaving the trance partner member of the public better than when you found them. We will have a briefing at the locale on the wherefores and whereofs of doing an approach and what sort of effects to practice – less experienced participants will be teamed with more experienced folks and each team will receive a copy of my suggestion cards that I use for students with suggestibility tests, instant inductions, and the like on them . . . although more experienced folks may opt to play with other sets or tests or effects as they wish. This is supposed to be a fun event so keep it in that spirit.

We are looking forward to your participation in the WALKABOUT TRANCE SPEED STREET HYPNOSIS event.

This study group is for hands-on practice and sharing techniques.

We will not be meeting in my home this time around, rather we’ll be heading out into a more public locale to do some actual hands-on practice of walkabout trance with members of the public (consenting volunteers). Only those who have signed up at

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypnoTaipeiExperimentalWorkshop
AND responded to the profile questions (name, phone, and interests in hypnosis) – and been approved – will be invited. The address and contact information is posted on the workshop yahoogroup.

Participants range from those with little or no formal hypnosis background to old hands with advanced experience. All that we ask is that folks bring an honest desire to learn and share.

The sessions are conducted in English so you must have the ability to converse about the subject as well as participate fully in English.

Please note that the workshop is for folks interested in learning and practicing hypnosis techniques, it is not a general discussion list or a therapy group. For those who are looking for general discussion of hypnosis, please join the Hypnosis Technique Exchange list. If you are interested in undergoing hypnosis, guided imagery, or focused trancework for a specific issue, contact me privately for information about my hypnotherapy practice or check out one of the folks in the links sections at http://www.briandavidphillips.com.

We look forward to seeing you then.

Please feel free to cross-post or forward announcement this to other lists, forums, or bulletin boards where this information might be welcome.

All the best,
Brian
