James Hewitt reveals Diana affair details while under hypnosis

In the news . . . James Hewitt reveals Diana affair details while under hypnosis . . . yes, it is a terrible headline as folks now are going to ask if he admitted the affair while he was under hypnosis or if the affair took place while he was hypnotized. In any case:

Former army Major James Hewitt has confessed to having an affair with Britain’s Princess Diana just months after she married Prince Charles – while under hypnosis. Hewitt made the shocking claim while being hypnotised for a new television documentary. It is the first time Hewitt has admitted to starting an affair with Diana in 1982 – previously he has always insisted the pair didn’t start romancing until after 1985. The disgraced ex-major wept as he talked about Diana, who tragically died in a Paris car crash in 1997. Hewitt told how he and the stunning princess first kissed “in 1981 or 1982” then became intimate soon after, when he realised he was “in love” with her. He also claimed he and Diana wanted to settle down together, adding: “She thought she’d make a very good Army wife. It wasn’t possible to do that. I think it was a dream.” Hewitt spoke of Diana being sad and lonely, but insisted the pair also shared happy times. He said: “She was happy when she was staying with me in Devon.” Afterwards, Hewitt told interviewer Rob Butler he had always tried to protect Diana’s family amid questions about when their relationship began.

A couple points . . . interesting . . . and . . . uh, now folks are going to be assuming hypnosis can force the truth out of you . . . nope, even in deep trance, the “hidden observer” function of the subconscious is still active. At some level, Hewitt wanted to get this out. True? False? Who knows? While there are certain ways to deepen hypnotic compliance and get to a point where statements are more possibly truth than not, hypnosis is no truth serum and folks who wish to counter the process are still perfectly able to lie. If you are asked about something you REALLY don’t wish out, then you can indeed refuse to talk about it.

Hypnosis is extremely powerful, that is most definately the case. However, movies and stories are movies and stories.
