Thumbsucker . . . hypnosis scene

Synchronicity . . . I just recorded the new variation of my shapeshifter animal spirit guide piece for an upcoming hypnocast when I saw the hypnosis clip from the film Thumbsucker:

Justin Cobb is 17, but he still sucks his thumb. Hypnotherapy administered by his orthodontist cures him of this behavior, but it just uncovers a whole host of neuroses.

Keanu Reeves is the hypnotist. The one problem with the scene is that he wants to “try” hypnosis . . . anyone who has been taught by me knows that we never “try” hypnosis, we either do it or we don’t. The word “try” implies failure so we utilize it in other aspects of a session.

The induction is a nice fixation piece (focus on the moon in the painting . . . my own power animal, the wolf, featured in the painting). The power animal imagery is one I’ve used many times.

Nifty.

Don’t know if the film will come here though. May have to get it on DVD later. Films like this don’t often make it to this side of the pond so we’ll have to see.
