Wait a minute. If 37% of HIV+ folks in Taiwan are gay men . . . then why would the police think the best strategy they can come up with of stopping the spread of AIDS is to harass gay men? What about the other 63% of the population? Needs a serious re-think on this one.

Yes, needle sharing is dangerous. Yes, unprotected sex with a bunch of folks who are HIV+ is stupid. However, this seems more like a homophobic response than it does health related. Yes, these guys need to get their heads out of their butts. However, the implication that all gay sex orgies are somehow to blame for the spread of HIV within the population is more than a lot erroneous.

They need to deal with those idiots on the sex junkets to Thailand as well.

HIV prevention is factored into the whole population, it shouldn’t be assumed that one segment is the culprit for another group’s disease. There is cross-over infection and it has to be contained but let’s not get our homophobic flash cameras out just yet.

Besides . . . orgies can be safe places . . . as long as folks practice the cardinal rules SAFE, SANE, and CONSENSUAL. It’s not all whitebread and vanilla out there.
