As you know from the Life of Brian AWOL post, my family and I took a brief vacation trip to Kenting with some friends. Wouldn’t you know . . . we head for the best beaches in Taiwan, travelling from the far North to the extreme Southern tip of the country, only to get hit by a typhoon. The rains just wouldn’t let up. In a couple days, the typhoon dumped more rainfall on the island than Taiwan normally sees in an entire year . . . and that’s a LOT of rain when you realize that it actually rains a lot here anyway. Luckily, I had packed the PS2 with an eyetoy and a couple light guns so the kids didn’t go completely stir crazy waiting for the weather to clear up.

Our last day there, the weather was nice. We spent an extra day out and stopped in Taichung to spend a day at Mala Bay and Discovery Walk. Great times to be had by all.

The last couple days of the vacation completely wiped away any ill feelings about being cooped up for the bulk of it.
