More websites are starting up about the Firefly movie. It’s going to be great. I hope the Chinese language stuff is better this time but even if it isn’t, the film is going to be WONDERFUL and a half. See Firefly Fans Net for some from-the-set posts from several of the actors.

I showed various episodes of the television series to different classes this year at the university (Entertainment Media and a graduate seminar in Science Fiction). It was rather interesting to watch the students when Chinese bits came up. I had to tell them what was being said as they had no clue. Native speakers of Chinese with no inkling of what the so-called Chinese lines meant. They liked the premise of the series and enjoyed the story, the language stuff threw them off but after a bit they forgave that and just enjoyed themselves.
