You will note that I have added a new category to Life of Brian . . . the Games by Brian David Phillips section will be where I post one-off or flashtype games (as in flash fiction, not as in computerie things). I will on very rare occasions post the rules here and the game materials in the Games folders on my fotki for download and printing.

Our first game is Power Coinz which I created for my daughter as a quickie one off to show her that it was possible for folks to makeup their own games if they put their minds to it.

In the folders you will find a couple example sets. Just print them off on nice glossy photo paper so that they are the size you want (I used 2.45″ button size but you can use whatever you prefer). If you input them into grids in Word, you can print a bunch on one sheet.

It’s best if each player uses a different set.

Each player chooses a Team of 5 coinz from his or her collection. The front of a coinz has the powerz rating number and the picture of the face while the back has the voodoo power. Each coinz has a powerz rating of 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. The total rating for a team is 15. Flip all of your coinz and add the totals of the powerz that are showing and compare to the total powerz of your opponents. The player with the highest powerz total wins and gets to pick one of the coinz from an opponent’s team that has a powerz showing and remove it from play (if none are showing, then choose one of the non-showing ones without checking the powerz rating). Losers must do whatever the special abilities say of the winner’s non-showing coinz. When a person no longer has any coinz, then that person is out. The last person with coinz in play wins (advanced game: winner keeps the coinz of the losers).
