Worms, worms, and more worms.

Yet another internet worm is out and about attacking unprotected computers. This one attacks you if you’re connected to the internet so no need for the virus to spread itself through email. It just snakes along in the internet connections, looking for a hole.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could actually use our computers with no fear of malware or viruses or whatnot? Oh, there was a time of ultimate security and the like . . . back before the personal PC.

I hope a day comes when the folks who write these things are caught more readily and punished much more severly.

The computer is just too essential to how we live our lives and do our business to remain vulnerable. In Taiwan, the post office computer systems and ATM transfer systems were hard hit by the new worm. They claim no customer data was exposed, but that’s this time. Next time there will be a new threat and the time after that and the time after that.

Sheesh.
