Call Me Mr. Dysfunctional

Lorraine and Kaye were gone for the entire weekend . . . camping with Kaye’s Scout Troop at Ko-Lai Scout Campsite. Well, it was one night . . . and while they had a wonderful time, all I got out of it was a realization of just how dysfunctional a fellow I am as I missed them terriblly. I know, it’s odd as we can all be home together blissfully working or reading or whatever in different parts of the house and not miss one another . . . but throw in that “sleeping somewhere else” thingie into the equation and suddenly it is all sucksful.

I am one of those fellows who needs his family. Big time. I have colleagues and have known folks who have actually lived in different countries from their spouses or kids as one partner or another had duties overseas or was studying for an advanced degree. I just couldn’t imagine doing that. Lorraine and I have a kind of maximum agreement or about two weeks. If something requires more than two weeks apart then we either don’t do it or the whole family goes. Heck, I’m a wreck after just a couple days of no companionship, love, and sex . . . I couldn’t imagine more than two weeks . . . that’s basically what I imagine hell would be like . . . being away from one’s family.

In any case, they had a wonderful time. You can see photos of their grand Scouting adventure in the Fotki galleries for family, friends, and passersby . . . Kaye’s Ko-Lai Scout Campsite Album.
