Dennis Lubbers (http://lubbersdennis.wix.com) asks the question regarding values, ideals, and murder in regard to the fascinating online video game DayZ, an adaptation of the military simulation ARMA II to the world of surviving a zombie apocalypse.

One thing that happens in the game is that while many players form teams to work together for survival, some turn rogue and commit in-game virtual atrocities . . . often built around acts of survival via the harm or murder of other players.

This turn to the dark side for survival can sometimes have an impact upon players who set out to do the right thing but eventually find themselves faced with a difficult situation. Sometimes, the player discovers they’re more prone to acts of atrocity than they ever would have dreamed.

Lubbers, interviews a DayZ player and explores the moment when one’s values are challenged, re-affirmed, or lost outright in a fascinating video interview.
