Hypnosis becoming the New Anesthetic

As regular readers here know, I have long advocated the use of hypnosis as a supplement to medical care and on a number of occasions have pointed to clinical studies that have clearly demonstrated that hypnosis can be very beneficial for surgery.

Recently, various stories have been coming out in mass media news outlets on the growing trend of hospitals and surgeons adopting hypnosis as either a replacement or supplement to anesthesia.

See http://www.cbsnews.com/2300-204_162-10008770.html for an excellent photo story from CBS as well as stories from http://www.thirdage.com/news/hypnosis-eases-pain-during-after-surgery_07-27-2011 and http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/188242/20110728/the-pleasure-and-pain-of-surgical-hypnosis.htm and http://theweek.com/article/index/217809/can-hypnosis-replace-anesthesia.

All the best,
