Universal 3D Glasses to Lower Entry Barrier for Consumers

One of the pissiest things about the new High Definition 3D televisions coming out this year is that most are using active glasses instead of lower-cost passive polarized solutions.  This may mean better quality to some but it also means that the individual replacement glasses can rack up some costs.  Certainly, folks will think twice before hosting a 3D Bluray party to watch the latest 3D blockbuster in their homes if they have to spend US$50 a pop for glasses.  Folks with large families might feel a bit on the screwed side as well.

Xpand is working on a solution by creating universal glasses that are a low-cost solution for consumers.  Certainly retail outlets can't keep many replacement glasses for different proprietary brands so Xpand's universal glasses – a lower cost alternative – will likely be considered a godsend to many.

Xpand works with the major manufacturers and has the green light from a number of them to create these lower cost alternatives so it's less likely to have product problems like the hacks we have seen crushed elsewhere.
