This quick question comes via email:
My own professional training has been in theatre since the beginning (I've BA and MA degrees in Communication/Theatre and a PhD in Comparative Literature with a focus on Interactive Drama – I also worked in small market television long ago behind and in front of the camera, mostly behind – and have performed or directed a long list of plays, mostly academic but a number professional pieces in there prior to relocating to Taiwan where it's been mostly academic theatre for me). I've been on the boards and behind them but my involvement with performers now is mostly as a trainer.
Thank you for your interest in my work with actors. For the most part, my work with trance acting is through the courses I teach at the university or workshops that I very occasionally offer mostly here in Taiwan where I live (although I have offered such workshops on very rare occasions elsewhere such as India and the US). Thank you for your kind comments regarding our course outline, we do a great deal on sense work and experiential processes with regard to the actor along with adapting more standard acting exercises to the experiential trance model as a means of enhancing their utility.
No, I do not currently have DVD or other materials available on trance acting, we may eventually film a workshop but it is not on the production schedule at the moment.
I do have one audio CD for actors that combines deep trance identification with character exploration which can be found on our webpages at http://www.briandavidphillips.net/store.
I wish you well.
All the best,
Brian
