When asked about what books are appropriate to learning erotic hypnosis, were they asking about general hypnosis or erotic hypnosis specifically?
A good introduction to standard vanilla hypnosis is a great way to get started into erotic hypnosis as one can then learn the principles of good hypnosis which can then be applied to any context or situation, erotic or otherwise.
However, having a resource specifically related to hypnosis and sex is very nice indeed.
The best single book on the subject is the one I’m writing (have a bona fide publisher lined up and will be posting more on it at my blog as details get solidified – so, if you were looking to know everything and anything related to erotic hypnosis, what would you want included in my book?). As my book isn’t written yet, there are some books out there specific to erotic hypnosis that folks can look into. The ones I’ve read:
- Barbara Debetz and Samm Sinclair Baker. EROTIC FOCUS: THE NEW WAY TO ENHANCE YOUR SEXUAL PLEASURE. New York: Signet, 1985.
- Wendi Friesen. HYPNOTIZE YOUR LOVER, DEEPER. www.wendi.com, 2001 (I contributed the chapter on writing erotic hypnosis letters which employ trigger phrases to deepen the response).
- Eugene D. Alexander, PhD. HYPER-SEX: THE SUBLIME ART OF SEXUAL SUGGESTION (Dr. Alexander very graciously uploaded the original edition to the files section of the Hypnosis Technique Exchange yahoogroup).
- Peter Masters. LOOK INTO MY EYES: HOW TO USE HYPNOSIS TO BRING OUT THE BEST IN YOUR SEX LIFE. Greenery Press, 2001.
- Wayne Perkins. HOW TO HYPNOTIZE YOUR LOVER TO AWAKEN A SLEEPY RELATIONSHIP.
- David Shade. DAVID SHADE’S MANUAL. http://www.davidshade.com.
I have a longer post on erotic hypnosis and getting started with mini-reviews of these resources and more at https://briandavidphillips.net/hypnosis_erotic_and_sexual/index.html and I know there are more but I either haven’t read them or I haven’t heard of them . . . yet (authors, feel free to send me your books for review here).
Some excellent online resources include my blog https://briandavidphillips.net/ (seriously, there is a LOT of material there related to the subject) and the Hypnosis Technique Exchange at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypnosisTechniqueExchange.
Read as many hypnosis books and see as many hypnosis videos as possible. Then . . . find a consenting, adult, willing partner, and practice, practice, preactice.
I hope this has been helpful.
All the best,
Brian
