I knew there was a good reason to like Heather Locklear . . . not that I have ever needed more reasons to like her anyway.
Locklear looks great . . . so when the 51-year-old actress was cornered by ambush paparazzi TMZ and asked the secret of her aging gracefully, she frankly told the truth and the pulp media immediately went into prissy mode.
In an on-camera conversation with TMZ reporters, she was asked if she had any recommendations for anti-aging skincare products. Her reply? “You just put semen on your face.” Yep.
Despite there being a lot of tasteless jokes about her comment, the research is actually there: Semen may have anti-aging benefits.
Semen as an anti-aging treatment saw a spike in popularity (or at least curiosity) around 2009. Turns out spermine, one of the components of semen, is high in anti-oxidants and can be used to smooth out wrinkles.
Whether or not you are grossed out by her statement – I hope not – or just pretending to be prudish for journalistic effect, rather to sell copy – there is a lot to what she said as an aside. Yes, the thing about semen possibly being an antidepressant for women is also backed by actual studies.
