COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Couples Hypnosis course covers material appropriate for therapists working with clients in appropriate changework relationships while also highlighting techniques appropriate for therapists to teach clients for their own personal intimacy or sensuality response homework within the context of a therapeutic program as well methods participants may use within their own non-therapeutic relationships. Appropriate context and use of techniques is highlighted throughout.

This seminar is not just a course, it is truly an experience . . . an exploration of the nature of trance, of hypnosis, and of deep trance phenomena and how to create amazing sensual and erotic experiences for others in just a few moments. Learn a number of processes, games, techniques, and approaches to erotic hypnosis. These unique and powerful techniques help you open yourself to wonderful opportunities within a wide variety of contexts from the confidential setting of the therapy room to the public performance experience of the entertainment stage to the intimacy and romance of the bedroom . . . and . . . beyond.

This full two-day experience is no mere lecture-based seminar, be prepared to jump into the experience fully to experience trance states and processes both as hypnotist and as trance partner. This is an experiential learning experience.

The Couples Hypnosis seminar is an intensive learning experience in Romance and Intimacy Experiential Trance Techniques for Adults using our I-5 protocol (Increased Intensified Intimate Imaginative Involvement). This course is a general overview on the use of experiential hypnosis or focused trance to intensify sensual experience and erotic connections (either as recreational processes for couples wishing to renew their own intimacy as well as for therapists intending to guide others as a means of overcoming difficulties and as appropriately applied to certain entertainment).

While couples will have the advantage of a willing practice partner, all participants will be asked to practice appropriate techniques within class.

Participants will learn the underlying principles of intimacy enhancement, sensual trance and erotic hypnosis and will be asked to practice certain light intimacy base techniques which they will learn how to combine in order to construct more powerfully explicit processes later.

Those who do not register with a partner will be asked to rotate practice partners throughout the experience. If you are uncomfortable running sensual trance processes with a member of the same sex or a stranger, then it is to your advantage to sign up with an appropriate practice partner.

This experiential course is for adults only.

If possible, you should sign up with a partner and you will be expected to practice the techniques with that partner. If you do not have a partner, then you may not have the opportunity to fully practice certain of the intimate techniques to best advantage. It is to your advantage to sign up with an appropriate partner if you wish to gain full benefits from this course. However, single attendees are certainly welcome.

Participants will learn methods for guiding themselves and their partners into a deep romantic rapport and enhanced erotic attachment. As well as to develop and create imaginary constructs for intimate sensual exploration, such as guided imaginary situations as well as ways to build physical responsiveness with words or gestures alone. The techniques, include consensual anchoring and trance-based trigger-response conditioning to create highly responsive desire state or “romantic” feeling with a mere word or touch that causes one’s partner to “explode” with passion and more.

Consensual techniques for formal trance induction, waking suggestion, and hypnosleep methods will be taught, demonstrated, and practiced. Some of the scripts and processes use graphic language or imaginative situations. If you are uncomfortable discussing relationship intimacy, fantasy, or experiencing sensual responsiveness in this context, please do not sign up for this course. The techniques introduced in this workshop are very powerful and extremely personal in nature. Adults only (age twenty-one or older).

Your instructor is highly respected among hypnotists as an authority on experiential hypnosis of this type for couples and others. In addition to covering other subjects, his ongoing blog contains a very active and comprehensive section devoted to formal exploration and discussion of Erotic Hypnosis, Intimacy Enhancement, and related topics.

This is an extremely comprehensive course as well as a very positive experience. This seminar is very much a hands-on practice-based course. Please come willing, able, and ready to learn, to experience, to guide, and to practice.

Students will learn a number of trance-based methods for increasing intimacy as well as for increasing sensual responsiveness in addition to relationship bonding. Participants will learn experiential trance imagery processes that allow one partner to guide another into a fully realized sensual fantasy experience where the imagined content is safely experienced and felt in a positive context as if it were really happening.

It is assumed that those wishing to use these methods for therapy work with clients will do so with appropriate hypnotherapy training in methods for positive therapeutic changework. As such, the focus of the course is on couples or relationship aspects of the area of intimacy enhancement and that therapists will first engage clients in positive changework before employing into these methods. Do the groundwork or engage in therapeutic foreplay so to speak before expecting to jump into eroticatrance. Important concerns are signposted and discussed during the course.

Various explicit sets and processes such as using sliding anchors to increase pleasure, the waking or eyes-open suggested erotic response, the ABCs of Suggested Orgasm, formal erotic hypnosis inductions, sensual response anchors, the “orgasm gun” suggestion, the erotic massage induction, arousal response conditioning, consensual hypnosleep processes, conversational trance language and romantic response, the erotic mind and how to access it, romance and lifetime love sets, core romance processes, erotic reconditioning, and much more will be taught, demonstrated, learned, and practiced.

HYPNOTHERAPEUTIC APPROACHES FOR COUPLES

As part of the orientation to the material, the instructor will signpost major areas for the professional therapist to note when it comes to individual clients or couples presenting with intimacy or sexual responsiveness issues with some general guidelines on how to help folks overcome difficulties. Some specific techniques and processes will be discussed in terms of intimacy issues and how to maximize effectiveness. Before moving into eroticatrance methods for enhancing sexual response and similar methods, the therapist is advised to deal with any underlying issues rather to avoid masking or causing cognitive dissonance. Once such core therapeutic changework has been done, movement into eroticatrance methods may be helpful. Eroticatrance methods are appropriate for reasonably well adjusted couples wishing to explore their relationships and to enhance sensual or romantic responsiveness.

SUGGESTIBILITY EFFECTS AS EROTIC INDUCTIONS

Learn a number of classic suggestibility effects and imagination games that can easily be converted into rapid erotic hypnotic inductions for use by couples. Learn how to sequence suggestibility effects to coincide with the increase in imaginative involvement and shepherd trance phenomena toward sensual experience.

COUPLES HYPNOSIS INDUCTIONS

Learn and master hypnosis inductions as adapted to the erotic trance paradigm and how and when to use them to take anyone from full waking state to deep somnambulism in three minutes or less . . . usually a lot less . . . within an erotic context, creating and enhancing sensual experiences. You will learn all of this and much, much, much more. Obviously, this is a very fast-paced and extremely comprehensive course but we will take our time and make certain you learn, practice, and experience the core principles. We will indeed take the time to smell the flowers and breathe in the air of paradise while having an incredible sensual mind experience.

This is an intensive training in Couples Hypnosis and as such requires clear concentration and full involvement on the part of students who must come ready to engage themselves fully in the process. While those who have registered as couples will have the advantage of a regular willing practice partner, all participants will be asked to practice the basic techniques within class – albeit, no one will be asked to go outside of their comfort zones. Couples need not be married nor need they fit any rigid criteria of orientation or lifestyle beyond their own assertion of couplehood (which here means an assertion of some form of appropriate consenting adult relationship for purposes of taking this type of course), straight, gay, alternative, poly, and mainstream are all welcome. Participants who sign up without a trance partner will be asked to practice on a rotating basis with other “single” participants. If you are uncomfortable running the processes covered in this material with a member of the same sex or a stranger, then it is to your advantage to sign up with an appropriate practice partner as a “couple” (yes, even friends who are not sexually involved may sign up as a “couple” to act as regular trance partners for the course).

This experience is open to novice and experienced hypnosis practitioners alike.

ORIGINAL PROCESS CREATION

Participants will learn a “build your own” and “spontaneous creativity” approach to innovation and inspiration in which they will create their own Erotic Hypnosis processes or patterns based upon the underlying operators taught in the course.

INSTRUCTOR:

The course is taught by Rev. Dr. Brian David Phillips, an internationally known and respected hypnosis practitioner, educator, author, and entertainer. Dr. Phillips is President of the Society of Experiential Trance and editor of the peer-reviewed Journal of Experiential Trance. Dr. Phillips is the coordinator and chief instructor for the oldest English-language hypnosis and focused-trance practice group in Taiwan and is the owner and moderator of one of the largest online email discussion communities related to hypnosis and focused trance techniques. He has taught numerous workshops and seminars on hypnosis, focused trance, and experiential hypnosis in a variety of countries as well as a number of webinars (web-based seminars) on these and related subjects. Dr. Phillips is an associate professor at National Chengchi University in Taipei, Taiwan, where he has taught undergraduate and graduate courses for well over two decades. TEACHING METHODS:

This seminar relies upon a very fast-paced system of demonstration and practice. More than any other course, this workshop consists of demonstration, explanation, practice, practice, practice. It is NOT intended as a lecture or passive learning experience. It is an energetic program so students should come ready, willing, able, and eager to jump right in and run full speed ahead. The teaching methodology is very active. Students will learn through all of their sensory learning channels, particularly aural, visual, and kinesthetic . . . listening, seeing, and doing . . . as it is a practical applications competence course, there is a great deal of supervised “doing” with immediate and useful feedback. Typically, for each subject or technique, the training is within the following process model:

instructor briefs students on the topic, instructor demonstrates technique with student volunteer,
the demonstration is then broken down into steps,
students then practice the technique several times with one another under guidance of the instructor with ongoing feedback,
class debriefs about experience and technique with performance notes from instructor,
students continue advanced practice (including homework for some techniques),
final debriefing with instructor. The course focuses upon competence and application of material.

This course, taught by Brian David Phillips, PhD, is approved for 16 Hours of CEU credit with the Society of Experiential Trance. Certified Hypnotist members of the Society will be awarded Erotic Hypnosis Specialist Certification upon successful completion of the demonstrational examination component of the course. Non-Certified members of the SET who complete the course are not eligible for specialist certification but will receive a Certificate of Completion. No partial CEU credit will be awarded for non-completion.
