Yep, the headline above says it all . . . there really is a bar in Tokyo that’s women only and dedicated to female masturbation. If you’re a single guy, you’re not getting in, although men may enter if the guest of a lady (think couples).
The Love Joule bar offers drinks and as you can see in the image above has a wide assortment of vibrators and sex toys on display.
No, the ladies, don’t whip out the ol’ vibrators in public but they are encouraged to discuss masturbation openly, to exchange tips, or ask for advice and the like. It’s a sex positive environment intended to make the customers feel comfortable and safe and okay with discussing an intimate act. Actually, I think it’s a great idea. It’s healthy to masturbate and while folks in Asia don’t have the same guilt about it that Westerners have happily driven into their culture, they do still have hangups and so having a place where women can openly and honestly talk about it . . . well, that’s a good thing.
I first heard about it watching an episode of The Late Show with Craig Ferguson as one of the guests, Dr. Lisa Masterson, mentioned the masturbation aspect of the bar as a positive thing in relationship to life extension. She was discussing the recent research that shows very powerfully that increased orgasms extends life expectancy and so she was advocating increased sexual activity for most folks – including masturbation frequency. Actually, this openness toward masturbation and sexuality in general is a very good thing. It’s related in part to what we saw in regard to new classes for women on how to masturbate (see https://briandavidphillips.net/2012/11/12/masturbationclass/) as well as to the folks looking forward to sexbots to extend their life expectancy via more powerful longevity orgasms (see https://briandavidphillips.net/2012/11/16/longevityorgasms/) . . . while sometimes off the beaten path (pun intended), this tendency toward openness is a Very Good Thing with a capital VGT to show we mean business.
