Meditation Enhances Attention . . . self-hypnosis as well

Yesterday, we saw how meditation and hypnosis can change actual structures in the brain (https://briandavidphillips.net/2011/01/25/medbrain/). Today, we see a Scientific American street science video that shows another benefit of mediation practice in terms of enhancing attention:

Studies on attentional blink found that breathing meditation practices can enhance attentional blink. Of course, one need not take a full meditation course of the type used in the study . . . so, twelve-hours-a-day may have definite change but there is evidence that while a rigorous schedule has real benefit even those of us who just can’t afford such radical life change receive positive attentional benefit.

All the best,
Brian
