Vizio releasing Passive 3D TVs

One of the biggest drawbacks of the new 3D TVs is that most of them use active shutterglasses technology to view the images . . . unfortunately, despite delivering amazing images, these glasses are expensive so most folks balk at getting a family TV as they get hit hard on buying enough 3D glasses for the family to watch together, let alone having a party of friends watch.

Passive glasses systems are cheaper in the glasses department (albeit more expensive in the set end of things) so folks can afford a whole slew of glasses for themselves and their guests.

Vizio has announced their own passive system 3D TVs so that will help a lot of folks move into 3D television who were reluctant before.  See http://blogs.consumerreports.org/electronics/2010/12/vizio-passive-3dtv.html for the Consumer Reports story.

Of course, your mileage may vary so double check quality on any system prior to purchase and I mean see it with your own eyes.
