Pentagon Says Lifting Ban on Gays in Military won’t have Negative Effect

The Pentagon finally released its long awaited study on whether or not dropping Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and the Ban on Out of Closet Gays serving in the military would have an effect on military readiness, morale, or the rest.

Their conclusion?  It would have not adverse effects.  Glad to see that the Pentagon immediately asked Congress to repeal the DADT rules before the Courts are forced to step in.  They want it done by Congress as they can then put in a transitional period for adjustment while a Court order (which the Pentagon feels would be inevitable if the Legislative branch doesn’t pick up the ball) would not allow for such a transition.

Glad to see they also shot down the whole “let’s allow gays but they have to use separate bathrooms” ideas coming from some camps.  The logistical nightmare of that is just way too over the top . . . besides, we separate bathrooms by gender . . . are they really saying that gays and lesbians are separate genders?  Silly people.
