They are out the door . . . last combat troops leave Iraq . . . but . . . there are still “advisors” there and the mess we leave behind is substantial. How long since has it been since that day on the deck of an Aircraft Carrier with the banner reading “Mission Accomplished”? The combat troops may finally be officially leaving and that mission may be accomplished . . . or, more accurately, over . . . but the task is certainly far from done and we will all be living with the fallout for decades to come.
