Hail Eris, folks.
Yes, I know . . . the Community is down again! It's been spitting out 404s all day and it's not supposed to. I am sorry that you can't get to the free hypnosis video course that I uploaded to the Community's archives just so you could do that . . . all one hundred episodes which took me a quite a lot of time and effort to edit and then convert and then upload.
No, I am not purposefully keeping you from your free swag. Please think things through a bit before firing off pissed off angry emails to me, especially when you didn't pay a dime for that free service which I'm paying quite a lot in time, effort, and money . . . yes, actual money, not pretend points . . . so you can have access to that material.
I'm happy to do it . . . well, when things work out, I'm happy to do it because I know that enough folks will convert to gold memberships and enough folks will eventually buy products and become full-fledged Society members so it will balance out in the end.
However, recently, the site's been having an uberbunch of problems. I know . . . I've been a broken record asking for folks to be patient.
A number of the recent issues we've been having our due to a nasty resource-devouring bug in the platform software the Community's built upon . . . serious enough that my hosting service forced me to either disable the key components or move to a more powerful and much more expensive server. I did the move and the problems continued so I've entered into a service contract with some specialists who service these sorts of platforms . . . however, there is a time zone difference between them and me and they aren't a twenty-four-hour service house. That means turnaround has a natural lag.
Additionally, Boonex, the folks who created the platform have been under a massive series of DDOS attacks of late . . . either someone's got way too much time on their hands or they're uberpissed off. Either way, a number of key resource calls for the dolphin platform are connected to Boonex so when they go down then we all get hit.
So . . . in addition to our own particular issues, we're getting hit with all that too.
We've been down all day Sunday . . . well, we were lucky in that we didn't actually go down until after the special event chat we had with Dr. Joseph Vidmar (Deepak) so that's a blessing. I recorded that event and was just about to upload the file to the Community archive when everything went byebye.
Once again, I ask that folks be patient . . . broken record still plays.
I have a lot more being affected by this outage than just the site . . . I've got a ton of sensitive email accounts that are inaccessible right now too.
Honestly, as we began to get hit with all this crap, I came real close to just chuckin' it all in and pulling the plug . . . I have made very little on the venture, not even ten percent of the operating costs which continue to rise . . . but, I've spent so many man hours working on this thing and already put way too much moolah to walk away so we'll stick it out. Besides, I've got a lot of really kool events lined up for this thing once we do eventually get it stabilized.
However, I do apologize to folks for the massive inconvenience . . . if you're pissed, please take a few deep breaths before you email me and try to take it out on me. Remember, I'm a LOT more pissed than you are.
Honestly, other than expressing my frustrating at the folks who've been pissing in my email inbox of late, this post really is not really intended to be informative at all, I'm just venting so pay me no nevermind and go on about your business.
Eventually, things will get sorted out and we'll be back up. Eventually, we'll be stabilized. Eventually, all will be good with the world. In the meantime, we will do what we can, we will exercise as much patience as possible (with the possible exception of a fist or two through a door or wall), and we will continue to plan some amazing new events and resources.
Them wheels do indeed keep on spinning.
It is rather appropriate, given recent events, that I opened this post with a blessing prayer to Eris . . . uberappropriate. Well, it's also appropriate to give the ol' companion closing greeting in her honor as well.
