So far, I have uploaded 24 episode clips for our FREE HYPNOSIS COURSE to the Community in the group at http://trancesociety.net/community/m/groups/view/Free-HYPNOSIS-Course . . . I have twenty more clips finished editing and am in the process of editing a LOT more and will eventually upload the entire comprehensive basic skills program which includes ALL of the skillsets required for certification with the Society of Experiential Trance (http://www.trancesociety.org).
Those who wish to begin a self-study distance program or those who have set up their own practice groups to follow the program are welcome to join the HYPNOSTUDY group at http://trancesociety.net/community/m/groups/view/HYPNOSTUDY where you can post in the forums for feedback and questions as you can interact with others. Those wishing to eventually complete the distance-based video examination toward Certification with the Society can post video clips there for feedback from other students, Society instructors, and the like as they go through their self-directed study program.
The SET does not have a written exam toward certification as a basic Hypnotist Member of the Society. Instead, distance-based exams are based upon demonstrational competence of the required skillsets. Essentially, you provide an instructor with a number of videos of yourself performing the skillsets with various trance partners (your self-study videos on the Hypnostudy group which are vetted may be acceptable).
Once you have completed the self-study review or study program toward skillset competence, collect your video demonstrations together (requirments can be found on the Society webpages at http://www.trancesociety.org in the various certification descriptions) and contact an SET instructor to ask about distance-based video examination (some instructors perform video exams and others might not, contact a particular instructor for their practice).
Some instructors may have private groups on the Community site at http://trancesociety.net/Community for those undergoing video examination to upload their examination videos for those who prefer to use a private forum rather than youtube or a public video sharing site. Of course, you can also ftp them to a server or use a secure file sharing service like megaupload if you prefer as well.
The HYPNOSTUDY group on the Community is specifically for those who wish to go through their own self-study program either alone or in a practice group they've organized. Since we have found that folks tend to increase their likelihood of finishing their self-study program if they work within a group, folks on the HYPNOSTUDY group are encouraged to form challenge groups to follow a "syllabus" of their own or to issue "challenge" sets to one another in order to encourage one another – and themselves – to follow through and complete their own self-study programs. Some of the SET instructors will be active in the group to offer guidance as well.
While most folks in the HYPNOSTUDY group will be following the FREE HYPNOSIS COURSE on the Community, it's okay for folks to form challenge groups to accomplish the specialist certification programs available through the Society as well. However, the HYPNOSTUDY group is appropriately used by anyone approaching any certification with the SET, including the free course or any of the specialty programs. For the most part, video uploads here should be related to the basic Membership Hypnotist Certification following the skillsets at the FREE HYPNOSIS COURSE on the Community, however those who have previously completed SET certification wishing to upload videos related to other specialties certifications can contact Brian David Phillips (Community Admin) about entry into a private group for specialist certification self-study (it's a good idea to have a challenge group in place when beginning such a program). This way, the folks pursing Speed Hypnosis or Eroticatrance or Psychic Hypnosis or or Entertainment Hypnosis or Lifetrance or other specialist certifications will be able to keep their material separate from the more basic programs (please note that these study groups are not the same as the general topic discussion groups).
