On March 30, I presented a HYPNOTRIO FUNNY HYPNOSIS SHOW at the Live Comedy Club in Taipei that was a bit more than a lot different from my regular show.
This time we did a Hypnotrio show as I invited my hypno-friends Patsy Wu and Howard Wang to join me on stage for a bit of tag-team hypnotic fun.
We had originally planned on the show being in Chinese only to make it a bit easier for Patsy and Howard to perform while my bit would be in English with Chinese interpretation which is typical . . . but . . . the best laid plans of mice, men, and hypnotists will almost always find a way to allow Murphy's Law into the mix.
It turned out that most of the audience and both of our volunteers for this show were more fluent in English than Chinese so we ended up doing an English show.
We had gone through the show outline and really one of my goals for the show was to give Patsy and Howard a chance to do a show (both have been my students and are gifted hypnotists with an interest in moving into entertainment hypnosis) while I would step in only for color or the like.
So, my part was the initial introduction and pre-talk and first induction and the ending emerging bit and post-show bit while Patsy and Howard took on gags from my standard show outline.
We had a lot of fun, although Patsy and Howard did have to pickup on doing the show in English for the sake of the volunteers rather than in Chinese but . . . they both learned that they could do it. As I told both of 'em, "if you can do the show in Chinese, then you know know you can do it in Chinese much more easily!"

After my pre-talk, I invited a volunteer on stage and did a quick induction just to get things started.
Howard did the "Handsome Has a Problem" gag where we invite someone on stage and tell the volunteers that the person is a nice guy but has a problem so everytime the hypnotist says "handsome" the volunteers imagine the guest has blasted out a nasty smelly fart. Some of you have seem me do this gag which I adapted from the late Frank Santos who used to do it beautifully.
Yes, that is my voodoo monkey that Patsy is playing with and she's doing some rather strange bits with it . . . a funny gag that is a lot of fun. Whatever the monkey feels you feel and all that.
